Based in Philadelphia, Copper Monks explores a wide range of styles from traditional rock to the Haight-Ashbury sound of the mid-60's. Through classic songwriting and compelling guitar work, the band creates an organic and authentic modern sound.
Copper Monks
Richard Douglass (vocals and guitar). Over the years, Richard has won several awards including Best Performing Artist in Georgia and has placed on the College Music Journal charts. He has also opened for major acts such as Bo Diddley, Dr. John and 10,000 Maniacs.
Alfred Goodrich (bass and vocals). Alfred is also an accomplished cello player. He has performed for two Grammy showcases and has opened for: Rufus Wainwright, Bruce Hornsby, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Marc Cohn, They Might Be Giants, and Suzanne Vega.
Chuck Treece (drums). Chuck's credits include starting the 1980's skate punk band McRad, remixing songs for Amy Grant and Sting, playing the bass line on “The River of Dreams” by Billy Joel, and touring with Urge Overkill and Bad Brains. Chuck is also a professional skateboarder.
John Paul Miller (keyboards). John is fluent in many musical genres, completing work for film score projects as well as choral ensembles.
